Artivism & 100 years marking the women’s right to vote
After spontaneously being brought together in a Whatsapp group, uniting female Muslim creatives, activists and artists my experience taking part in Processions 2018 marking 100 years since the women’s right to vote is one that I will never forget.
London, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast were flooded with purple, white and green in solidarity with the suffragette flag.
London, Cardiff, Edinburgh and Belfast were flooded with purple, white and green in solidarity with the suffragette flag. I felt privileged to have been part of the mammoth of unity amongst strong and tenacious women of all ages marching proudly waving their flags.

Gangsters, thugs or victims of police brutality; Black men are tired and Black boys need to be inspired. In an effort to take back their narrative and break away from the constant rhetoric that portrays young Black men as aggressive, unprogressive and only ever victimized by authority figures in the news; #BlackBoyJoy created waves across social media.
